Biographical Info

Cleeve Common can be approached from several directions by foot. Access by car is easiest along a lane at the top of Cleeve Hill leading to the Quarry car park.  Please do not park in Cleeve Hill Golf Course car park which is private and for members.

If travelling by bus alight at the top of Cleeve Hill or at the Rising Sun. Passengers are advised this is a hale & ride service so please clearly indicate to the driver their intentions to travel.

Parking is available at five main locations 

At the Golf Club entrance. Turn off the B4632 at the summit of Cleeve Hill, signposted to Cleeve Hill Golf Club.  Park in the Quarry Car Park (go over the cattle grid and bear left).  Grid reference SO989272, nearest postcodeGL52 3PW. Note that this car park is locked at night, at 8 pm during British Summer Time and at 5 pm once the clocks go back.
On the B4632 at Stockwell Lane viewpoint, Cleeve Hill.
At the Radio Masts. Access from Cheltenham via Harp Hill and Aggs Hill, or from Whittington. Limited parking.  Grid reference SO994249.
At West Down, access from Brockhampton or Whittington.  Grid reference SP009239.

The common covers 405 hectares (1000 acres) and the highest point of the Cotswold Hills (1083ft / 330m).
